The Founder Institute is one of the world's largest idea-stage accelerators. The 16-week intensive program enables aspiring entrepreneurs to launch their dream companies with the aid of expert training, feedback, and support from experienced startup founders and CEOs - while not having to quit their day jobs. O'Donnell recruited the mentors, sponsors and channel partners, and facilitated seven sold-out recruiting events. After running the program in Tampa, O'Donnell helped to bring it to Fort Lauderdale and served as a mentor.

VR Business Brokers M&A is a business transaction and acquisition firm with an international network of offices -- selling more businesses in the world than anyone since 1979. VR focuses exclusively on serving buyers and sellers of small to mid-sized privately owned companies.

Thesis Ventures was a hands-on, early stage venture fund and company builder, providing entrepreneurs with intellectual, network and investment capital. It was the first venture fund of its kind in South Florida. The fund invested in and launched six companies.

Startup Quest Broward was part of a $12M state-wide grant from the U.S. Dept. of Labor to train people with college degrees to become entrepreneurs and educate them about opportunities to commercialize technologies developed at Florida’s public universities and federal laboratories. The Fall 2013 and Spring 2014 programs in Broward County attracted 750 applicants and graduated 29 teams comprising 215 participants. O'Donnell managed the program in South Florida and led the effort to recruit the mentors (40), speakers (15), judges (15), board of advisors (12), sponsors (20), and community partners (30). The program was recognized as the most innovative and successful in the state of Florida among 8 regions.

iCopyright pioneered the first automated system for licensing of digital content via the Internet. O'Donnell designed the application, developed the business model, wrote the business plan, signed major publisher accounts, raised $30M in investment capital, hired and supervised the management team, and executed the plan to create the copyright licensing system of the 21st century. Winner of two CODiE Awards by the Software & Information Industry Association for best software in its class. Named one of the 100 Companies that Matter Most in the Digital Content Industry by EContent Magazine. Winner of FundingPost's best startup of the year in the United States.

Managed web site development, online marketing, and eCommerce sales of the company's product, iPublish. The company was acquired by Microsoft and its technology incorporated into Microsoft Publisher.

On the management team that designed, built, and launched SPRYNET, one of the first national Internet Service Providers (ISP). SPRYNET went public as part of CompuServe in 1996 and was named by PC Magazine as one of the best Internet service providers in the country.

Developed and launched some of the first multimedia kiosks, computer-based training (CBT) programs and business presentation software. Raised $3M in venture capital. Authored several best selling books on business planning and marketing planning. Worked with inventors and entrepreneurs to help them commercialize their ideas.

Data Technologies founded one of the first high speed electronic publishing centers in the United States. It was funded by a venture capital group in Norfolk and subsequently merged with Innovative Professional Systems. It was my first lesson in how *not* to start and build a company.
