Directed the significant software and hardware developments that Monitor has undertaken over many years, both for Monitor products and for OEM and other special projects.Travelled extensively internationally to build and maintain Monitor’s reseller and partner relationships, particularly in the USA and to promote the Monitor products and business to those partners.Negotiated with and project managed projects with the ANZ Bank, Visa and Sydney University to develop a world first prepaid Visa campus card solution for Sydney University. My experience enabled me to achieve the result desired by the parties to this project in a cost effective, commercially and technically feasible manner, delivered on time. This solution has been showcased internationally.Negotiated with, architected and project managed the relationship with a USA bank to implement a similar prepaid campus card solution in the USA.

I was appointed General Manager and subsequently CEO, responsible for the setting up of the business and the recruitment of the additional staff necessary to run the operation as a separate entity from its beginnings as a division of U-Bix Business Machines. I established company processes, oversaw the implementation of budgets and financial reporting for board meetings and autonomously managed the New Zealand operation. I sat at all board meetings.Managed the recruitment and development of resellers in various parts of the world including the negotiation of distribution agreements, personally maintaining a close relationship with those resellers and promoting the Monitor business and products to them.

Responsibility for the Technical Management of the division which developed and supported the company’s range of Transaction Management software and devices.Maintained close contact with the design of both the hardware and software of these projects at all times to ensure that design goals were successfully achieved.U-Bix opened its first office in Sydney during this time for the sole purpose of marketing the Monitor products. I recruited initial staff for that operation and was closely involved with its startup.

I was responsible for the profit performance and general management of the Reinforced Plastics and Composites division of Transfield in Western Australia.Managed the $1.3 million contract to supply PVC lined FRP tanks to Rhone-Poulenc for the construction of a Gallium extraction plant. This was a major project involving supply of components from other divisions of the company and with strict quality control requirements.
