As the Principal Software Engineer at Clarity Voice, I serve as a team leader in the software engineering department. One of my primary responsibilities is to oversee the software development lifecycle for internal and customer facing systems. This, in many cases, also includes working with the rest of the software engineering team to design, architect, develop and release projects within the cycle. Another key part of my position is to identify technology and innovation opportunities. This includes, developing and championing software innovation tools, methodologies, and approaches to cultivate ideas and opportunities that are more diverse, unique, drive quality and speed to market. It also includes evangelizing, collaborating, and sharing software trends, code language discovery and recommendations across teams.Over the past year, my primary goal has been improving software quality by identifying opportunities for improvement and guiding the software engineering department towards solutions to these issues. One of the key opportunities discovered was in utilizing the Elm programming language when building or updating large parts of our front-end user interfaces. This lowered the amount of hard to track down (non-logic based) bugs in systems built with this technology to 0%, and sped up our QA cycle immensely. It also allowed us to refactor safely when the time came to change those systems.

As an Application Developer at Clarity Voice, I am responsible for enhancing our world class VoIP platform by developing, improving and maintaining code that increases functionality adding value for our customers.Primarily focused on full stack Web Application Development, my experience consists of various projects including: - Line of business applications in PHP that automate workflows within our ERP system, improving the efficiency of our teams and allowing them to accomplish complex tasks like provisioning a domain, processing ACH payment or accessing a customers'​ router. This main components of this project included configuration of a MODX CMS system that allowed for both sites use the same codebase with dynamic elements, responsive design using Bootstrap 3, HTML5 and CSS3, parallax transitions using skrollr.js, custom API integration with Zopim Live Chat, Javascript/PHP that dynamically draws some of our customer logos and animates them across the screen, Javascript/PHP that dynamically displays employee testimonials and dynamic PHP/Javascript that draws our products on the products page. - Designing and developing modern user interfaces using HTML5, CSS3 and various Javascript/CSS frameworks (jQuery, jQueryUI, AngularJS, Google Visualization, Bootstrap, Modernizr etc.) with a PHP/MySQL or API (SOAP and REST) back-end. - Creating custom datasources in PHP that consume/bridge vendor and internal APIs - Adding new features to our open SOAP and REST APIs. I was the lead developer in a team of three and mentored and enjoyed mentoring and teaching my colleagues. - Co-authored a PHP framework that increased efficiency on development projects by 25% (this is still being maintained and used as a platform for my current employer's ERP system). - Lead developer in many projects including developing a CRM and an online academic institution website for a large nationwide church. - Developed application work flows of various specifications - Discovered flaws in client networks that caused lower throughput (therefore degrading productivity). Planned and implemented solutions that resolved these inefficiencies.

At HRC I was the lead web developer and network technician for a company of 250. I led and managed many projects including the following: - Designed and Developed company's Intranet site using ASP.NET, AJAX, Javascript, HTML and CSS - Was part of a team that planned and seamlessly integrated a VoIP phone system into a production workplace resulting in a significant cost savings for the company. - Designed and developed eCommerce website for corporate partner using HTML, PHP, Javascript and CSS - Assisted in the planning and implementation of major improvements to our primary office's data center which allowed for more efficiency of our main network systems. While at HRC I was also involved in several committees including the Web Team committee, Communications committee and Green Committee.
