About Michael Orman
I am a systems biologist interested in the development and application of bioinformatics techniques to study biological mechanisms impacting human health. I am especially passionate about using these techniques to elucidate altered cell-signaling pathways that may drive the translation of novel therapeutic targeting strategies in cancer and other human diseases.I am currently a Pharmacology Ph.D. candidate at the University of Colorado | Anschutz Medical Campus. My thesis project is centered on investigating mechanisms of aggressiveness in prostate cancer molecular subtypes. For this work I use a variety of bioinformatics and cell / molecular biology tools.My training at the undergraduate and masters level was in bioengineering (BS Chemical Engineering / MS Biotechnology). Prior to starting graduate school I worked in biomedical research, pharmaceutical automation, quality control, and academic coaching.
