Having built my first computer (a Nascom) in the late 1970s and being asked by folks to repair Spectrums, Vic 20s, etc I decided to start up a repair company. Repaired just about all types of home / games computers, wrote software, programmed EPROMs, small time VAR, etc. Got into IBM PCs via the ubiquitous Amstrad 1512 and early IBM PCs and had great fun with DOS 2.01, GEM, etc.
