Mike Pegman - Lead Information Assurance Architect and Service Architect at Department for Work and Pensions. In recent years, as part of both industry wide collaborations, and within the department, he architected the Pension Dashboard eco-system based on strong design principles and innovative use of open standards, in a multi-disciplinary team supporting policy and legal objectives.Mike is the author of the department’s Conceptual Architecture for External Access, covering identity, trust and risk, for citizen, partner and API access.In DWP's Business Transformation Group and in DWP Digital, as Lead Security and Service Architect, he assisted digital transformation programmes to formulate usable secure service propositions and deliver into cloud environments, formulating trust and risk architecture, counter-fraud services, and Information Assurance and security risk assessments. He held a role to thought-lead innovative transformations and to support the cross-government Identity and Trusted Attribute eco-system.On secondment to the Cabinet Office in 2010-11 he developed the technical options and architecture for the Identity Assurance Programme (IDAP), placing Identity Provider services in the private sector, and during a second secondment with Government Digital Service, in 2013-14 he developed the security controls framework for GOV.UK Verify.After joining the civil service in 2006 he led the architecture programmes for the DWP's National Insurance Number database, the proposed use of that system as part of the National Identity Register, and Government Gateway - the cross-government integration and authentication managed service. He led Security Architecture team for Universal Credit, Identity Assurance (IDA), web and telephony channels, application and infrastructure design.
