Before I moved into timeshare software, my career began in property development in 1983. In the early 1980s, I built fractional ownership developments, well before this product became the buzzword it is today. And in 1987, I pioneered one of South Africa’s very first points clubs.Together with my partners, I established one of South Africa’s largest timeshare and points club development and management companies with over 40,000 members in four different points clubs. I pioneered the concept of converting timeshare owners to points and the points clubs had access to and owned timeshare weeks in virtually every resort property in South Africa. My company also managed 16 resort properties. The business was vertically integrated and covered every aspect from property development through marketing and sales to after sales member servicing. Integral to the success of this business was the fact that the software on which we operated was developed in house.I partnered with CLC World, one of Europe’s largest and most successful timeshare developers, to form the CRI Points System, the forerunner of RCI Points.I sold my various timeshare businesses to RCI in 2000 and assisted them for three years in designing and launching the RCI Points program in Europe and the USA.I have served on the boards of a number of timeshare resorts and owners’ associations and have occupied the position of chair on many of these boards.I have extensive knowledge of all types of vacation ownership products including:TimeshareFractional Points clubsPrivate residenceTrial productsMy first-hand experience of how to manage timeshare developments and clubs means that the software I design supports the best practices in vacation ownership business processes.   I am the CEO and chief architect for Merlin Software for Vacation Ownership, a leading provider of web based, enterprise timeshare and fractional software. The software is built on my 30 plus years' experience as a timeshare and fractional resort developer, points club creator and management company owner. I understand what today's resort owners require from their software and build this for them using the latest technology.
