Storage and archive solutions are constantly improving along with system integration. I've learned to update my toolbox along with users' new toolsets. Each new development comes with its own set of challenges and solutions. My greatest strength is as a troubleshooter. The buck stops with me in that regard. As an integrator, I sweat the details to make facilities work seamlessly. This is an exciting time in Hollywood, the convergence of technologies has created advances in efficiency that centralizes workflow from many departments. I'm currently doing freelance support for video post and production. I just finished rebuilding a 25' mobile unit for Trident Media. Also I completed commissioning the control room for a huge upgrade at the Fargodome in Fargo, ND. Recently I built two installations at boutique shops of video routing, edit stations, 10 gig network, new servers and CG workstations. I added license servers and render nodes for Houdini, Nuke, Softimage, Redshift, and Deadline. Often in these installations a fair amount of troubleshooting is needed to "dial it in" so that I may feel confident that the project is fully completed.

I was the Post Engineer at CONAN in Burbank. Responsible for video engineering and servers. Conan has several FCP, Premiere and Graphics stations, SAN as well as several NAS servers. I work well under pressure with a short deadline. I also did support on Conaco's pilots, Web Dept. and Clip Research. I was responsible for ingest and playout servers. Managed Linux and Windows servers, Mac and PC workstations as well as IT infrastructure. I created a workflow managing LTO archiving and a method for Aspera transfers with local servers during remote shows. Solved security issues by isolating departments sharing media. Installed 10GB ethernet and fiber networks.
