Rapid Link was a $19 Million publicly-traded company offering voice and internet services to business customers via its own network facilities. In 2006, we sold TNC to Rapid Link, Inc. who specialized in VoIP services. I chose to remain with the company and operate the Omaha facilities as well as consolidate their California operations into Omaha. I then oversaw the operations of the state of the art hybrid fiber/fixed-wireless networks in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., St. Louis, Jacksonville, Dallas and Los Angeles.• Led the change from a VoIP (Vonage-style) business model to that of an access provider.• Successfully integrated four acquisitions (Communications Advantage, Web-Breeze Networks, iBroadband Networks and One Ring Networks) into the Rapid Link operation. • Designed a geographically-diverse and redundant open-source VoIP switching platform to handle our voice customers. This platform enabled us to move away from a third-party vendor and save 80% in hardware costs.• Designed a wireless rural broadband network to serve five counties in Northern California. The California Advanced Services Fund (CASF) awarded Rapid Link a $2.8 Million Grant to fund the construction.After spinning off the operational entities, the public company Rapid Link, Inc. was successfully sold to Blackbird Corporation on February 24th, 2010. Afterwards, I worked with the lead investor, Laurus-Valens, to manage the remaining companies while pursuing a new executive position.

Worldport Communications (WRDP) was a publicly traded, facilities-based global telecommunications carrier that purchased ICX in April of 1998. I took a position within WRDP and was promoted to Director of Global Enhanced Services. I oversaw the operation of the ICX business, as well as the enhanced services of Telenational Communications, Inc. (TNC) which WRDP has previously acquired.• Successfully moved the ICX network to Omaha, NE and integrated it into the TNC facility.• Closed the California operations of WRDP in order to enhance the efficiency of the company and cut costs.• Devised and implemented many network configuration and routing changes in the Omaha network which increased our gross profit over 10%.
