RFMBA's mission is to create and sustain the best possible mountain bike trail system in the Roaring Fork valley. As a Founding Board Member and former Board President of this organization, I have been intimately involved in many of our efforts since 2008. After resigning from the board in 2013, I was hired as Executive Director in January 2014 to lead RFMBA within the following areas of focus: Advocacy: Advocate for mountain bike access to trails in our area. Facilitate the activities required to sustain a positive mountain biking experience in our area.Planning: Create conceptual and management plans focused on mountain bike trails in the Roaring Fork Valley and connecting areas. Coordinate with local user groups and land management agencies to implement the plans.Trails: Work with other trail organizations and agencies to promote volunteering and funding of trail maintenance and development.Education: Educate local mountain bikers and other trail users on how to coexist in a shared use environment and how to be responsible caretakers of our public lands.

IMBA's mission is to create, enhance and preserve great mountain biking experiences. In my role as Executive Director for RFMBA (a Chapter of IMBA), I am focused on serving communities of the Roaring Fork Valley while also working in the best interests of riders throughout Colorado by helping to develop the Colorado Mountain Bike Coalition. Since 1988, IMBA has been bringing out the best in mountain biking by encouraging low-impact riding, volunteer trail work participation, cooperation among different trail user groups, grassroots advocacy and innovative trail management solutions. IMBA's staff, chapters, clubs and members work to benefit the entire mountain bike community.-We create a powerful voice for trails, public lands and management policies that welcome bikes.-We advocate for mountain bike access and acceptance nationwide. -We build sustainable trails and bike facilities to make mountain biking more accessible.-We teach environmentally responsible trail building and trail etiquette practices.-We inspire more people to experience the outdoors on bicycles.-We educate bike groups on how to organize and make mountain biking better at the local level.

During my tenure at CCY Architects, I gained valuable experience and matured into a strong project manager. While participating in, and managing projects, both big and small, my attention to detail continually informed a team’s design process and added to its overall success. My clear communication of complex issues during construction was a key to the success of Buildings 1 (Hayden Lodge & Treehouse) & 3ABC, the first buildings to be completed at the Snowmass Base Village project. The constant focus I provided on sustainability was a boon CCY; I was the first staff member to achieve LEED AP status, and was instrumental in gaining a LEED Gold rating for the Brasada Sales Barn project in Powell Butte, Oregon. My experiences designing and constructing high end homes & resort lodging give me a unique perspective on the requirements for managing and working on demanding projects.
