Major accomplishments include:  Responsible for all corporate reporting and controllership functions to ensure transparent compliance with policies developed in conjunction with stakeholders and the Board.  Led the company in the annual budget development process and subsequent control.  Responsible for the investment plan and implementation of a 9 digit investment portfolio.  Oversaw the controller’s duties to ensure compliance with corporate policy and procedure.  Appointed by the Canadian President as a member of the Pricing, Marketing, Product Planning and Advertising Committees to provide leadership and direction with an emphasis on cost control.  Conceived and steered a strategic plan and court defence regarding international transfer pricing in partnership with the Hyundai Tax Manager to recover $5 million from the CRA. Acted as the lead negotiator to secure the groundbreaking Canada, Korea Advanced Pricing Agreement with the CRA reducing audit requirements. Influential leader during the IFRS implementation delivered in 2009, under budget, 1 year ahead of requirements.  Responsible for the start-up of the internal audit department, staffing, project selection and maintaining the momentum of the projects and final report review prior to delivery to the president.  Enhanced the Canadian President’s ability to manage the business by developing a comprehensive Monthly Information Report to track sales and costs by model and other valuable information.  Acted as the conduit between Bankers, Auditors, Financial Service Providers and other vendors providing timely information and contract renegotiation as required. Provided alternatives and workable solutions to the restructuring of the debt taken back in the original transaction. Consulting - Reviewed numerous companies on behalf of Boards of Directors and/or financial institutions. Prepared and presented reports to senior management and lenders with recommendations on operational efficiencies and restructuring alternatives. Acquisitions - Senior member of a consulting team working with the management of a high technology industry leader in conducting due diligence of an acquisition target with primary responsibility for reviewing and assessing financial and operational aspects of the target business.
