About Mike Punter

My name is Mike Punter and I have over 25 years of Manufacturing experience with an education in Industrial Engineering and Business Management. I deliver skills in project planning, visual factory, analytics, and problem solving with a focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, and Growth.Throughout my career I have formed an analytical, logical, and strategic side but never lost touch of my creative right side of the brain. As a result, I am able to combine my technical abilities with a creative burst that has awarded me the opportunity to add value through reporting (storytelling) and visual manufacturing. These skills have been highly transferable when supporting Business Development through Sales and Marketing initiatives. My next challenge is working with our team to establish a manufacturing plant with high quality output for our customers. Together we will design, develop, and learn the best practices for providing the best product. I aim to make a positive impact with the people in my life and the community we live in. Being involved in service clubs and youth sports has provided me the opportunity to help bring out the best in others and be a part of their personal growth. My success, I believe, is also dependent on the qualities that I possess. I am an Optimist, a Follower, and a Leader - characteristics that I believe help make me a valuable person.I am here to connect - If I can help make a difference with you then let’s connect on LinkedIn or contact me at puntermike@gmail.com or (519) 835-7258.

    > While at the university I was provided with many opportunities to cross over my manufacturing experiences and industrial engineering skills to offer improvements on processes and instructional documentation. Using the PeopleSoft Enterprise software I was able to help students starting with applying to join the university, selecting appropriate courses required of their programs, and then right up to receiving their graduating diplomas. This period of my working career was a challenging time but it had a positive outcome as I left with an abundance of renewed empowerment over my abilities and value to future employers. > “Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand” : http://uwaterloo.ca/

    > As a Project Engineer my responsibilities allowed me to cross over abilities between engineering and project management. I was the primary technical point of contact for my production line and liaison between multiple departments. I lead and tracked programs including development of process documentation and collaboration with front line operators. In addition I advised on quality, delivery and cost results for each project. My short time here was a career stepping stone that lost the battle during the 2008-2009 automotive industry crash. My impression, though, is that this step was a character builder and that I am a better person for having gone through this stage of my career.> Power to Perform: http://www.linamar.com> Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts ~ Winston Churchill
