Member of the Platform Analytics team, providing a central corporate data lake, data vault, and data marts for reporting and analysis. Collected data from many sources for internal use in business analysis (including corporate reporting and royalty payments), and by development (to see how components are utilized and to detect issues). Also delivered data back to integrators and end users as reports and via applications. ETL processes and business logic primarily in Python driven by AWS Lambdas and Airflow, and SQL run in Snowflake DB.

Developed a comprehensive personal financial advisor and intelligence platform, using Java, Groovy, Spring Boot, RabbitMQ, Hibernate, Elasticsearch, Ember, Elixir/Phoenix, along with Docker, AWS, CircleCI, JIRA, GitHub, Grails, and Splunk.

Full stack web application development in JavaScript (Meteor, MongoDB, Angular, D3, etc), as well as RESThub (Java, Spring, and Backbone.js), and also a pure Java and Postgres backend.

Transitioned IT, Facilities, Dev Ops, Sales and Tech Support systems, corporate web site, LMS, and related policies and procedures, for this newly formed company of 250+ people. Migrated 400+ physical systems to the cloud (AWS and iLand), migrated Salesforce implementations, consolidated facilities, etc. Drove several cross functional teams with collaboration across most departments, worldwide.

Managed the Global Support teams for Sonic, Actional, and DataXtend SI, a family of products also referred to as RBI (Responsive Business Integration). These products along with Savvion spun out of Progress Software in Dec 2012 to form Aurea Software.

Managed the Sonic, Orbix, and ArtixESB technical support teams. Sonic includes SonicMQ (a Java Messaging Service environment) and Sonic ESB (an enterprise service bus and integration solution). Orbix is one of the best know implementations of the OMG's CORBA specification. Artix provides extensible middleware primarily through configurable and dynamic smart endpoints. Together these were the SOA (services-oriented architecture) products offered by Progress Software to help companies build distributed heterogeneous applications, and it was my teams that supported all of those technologies.

Initially supported Artix and Orbix, and then other products, before becoming team lead and then the team manager.

Contributed to IONA’s Java and C++ based Artix Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and related tools, as well as IONA’s Eclipse and Java based Artix Registry Repository products; including development using Apache ServiceMix, Camel and CXF open source projects. All of these products are used to develop Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) and Web Services, which use loose coupling to connect disparate software systems.

Added features and improved performance, reliability, and scalability of Centra’s web-based live learning and meeting tools - Java, EJB, and JSP based with a MS SQL Server, Oracle, Cloudscape, and DB2 data tier. Deployed globally, as an on-premise enterprise product, and as a service hosted by Centra.

New product design of Factpoint's web content management and certification system, and new additions to NovaSoft's web and client/server based electronic document management system (EDMS). Created TrustSite Administrator (HTML and JavaScript client plus Java servlet used to store digital fingerprints and other attributes in a database via JDBC) – worked with marketing, usability, doc, and QA. Built Submission Site (an HTML and Servlet toolkit for creating browser-based interfaces to an existing EDMS). Prototyped an EJB and Java based workflow engine used to guide content through NovaSoft’s EDMS. Implemented demos and represented the company at NovaSoft's User Conference.

Created and improved products and components supplied with FASTech's factory automation software. Developed Windows ActiveX controls in C++, run-time clients in VB, code-design tools, and configuration tools, based on an open distributed 3-tier client-server architecture that ran on Windows and UNIX. Co-designed and implemented a new product: STATIONworks/NT. Contributed to many FACTORYworks components: improved user authentication, statistical process control (SPC) and data collection, recipe (machine instruction data) management, carrier (physical transportation) management, and other modules. Improved various aspects of FASTech's 4GL language processor and visual logic engine.

Project and team lead for 5 releases and many patches of CenterLine's programming environments, which included a unique interactive C and C++ interpreter and debugger, run time and static error checking, and code comprehension browsers. Led teams of 3-8 people, and coordinated with release engineering, QA, customer support, sales, marketing, and management; to deliver on multiple platforms simultaneously.Personally added support for multiple object code formats: ELF, a.out, COFF, and SOM; and debug info: Sun STAB and HP SOM debug formats. Added object code debugging support, including seamless integration with interpreted source code. Save/Restore environment state, for fast restart. Ports to several UNIX platforms.

Developed Apollo Ada programing tools including compiler, linker, debugger, management tools, and utilities. Redesigned a 3rd party debugger to use Apollo subsystems, and enhanced operating system and debugger system libraries to support Ada. Created an automated test system that ran the Ada validation suite in parallel across the network, greatly speeding up the testing. Coordinated beta-test and product shipments.

Compiler and linker development for SofTech’s Ada Language System. Improved the speed of the linker by 60x, and added features. Designed and implemented storage allocation and external symbol production, for a new compiler, using global optimizer data. Taught full one-week courses to customers on the language, and also on the tools.
