Head of Finance role was accountability to drive the transformation of the finance function, supporting the Group’s aspiration to provide the best customer experience. The Australian business provides Mobile Device Services to Carriers across the lifecycle of support, including Device Protection, Upgrade & Trade-in solutions, Repair, and User Support (Technical Support). I joined the Australian business during the start-up phase (e.g. the 15th employee) to lead and shape finance function and business through a period of exponential growth to an established business. The role was to be the key business partner to the senior leadership team and the commercial business (sales, business development, supply chain, customer service centre). It was to provide the commercial analysis and decision support to the business to ensure sales and margin budgets were met and to maximise for business opportunities. This included identifying and supporting delivery of the strategic growth objectives including the launch of Telstra's New Phone & Tablet Feeling Program (Vendor Side).

Responsible for building the controllership team from the ground up to support the launch of device protection product which included our 5-year vision and involved direct recruitment of a team within a 6-month period. Successfully implemented and deployed the ERP systems to support customer monthly billings & refunds, inventory management system, procurement & vendor module, and general ledger. Other system implementations and projects were: Concur (online expenses), Payroll (ADP outsourcing), Blackline reconciliations, Hyperion (HFM), QlikView, and banking systems integration. Responsible for all compliance (e.g. GST, FBT, Transfer Pricing) and financial reporting, including board packages & external communications and developing and administering control policies and procedures, including SOX compliance.

LivingSocial has the 2nd largest online daily deals partner that was purchased by Groupon in 2016. I joined the start-up tech company during the period of hyper-growth. During a period of hyper-growth and significant change, the role was to drive process improvement and controls through the back-office functions to improve the reliability and accuracy of financial information. Improved key operational processes around payment solutions to merchants, identified tax savings opportunities >$1 million, and successfully reduced overhead costs.
