During my time at university I pursued a degree in global studies which helped me become a more informed global citizen. As I progressed I developed my problem solving and planning skills. Both high level vision and detail-oriented thought processes were highly valuable skills I had to focus on. During the extensive exchange of ideas inherent in the program I became more and more fascinated with the different backgrounds people came from. This widening of my world view, in part, led me to become more interested in the cuisine of various cultures around the world. As I became more interested in the culinary differences between countries I shifted focus and increasingly I became interested in the food itself. Now, some months on, I enjoy spending my free time cooking, baking and creating various dishes from the cultures I learned about and both embracing and experimenting with new influences from around the world.
