Metro West Council of Government is a council of municipalities serving a population of more than 750,000 in Kane, DeKalb and Kendall Counties of Illinois. The non-profit organization was founded in November 2004 and is supported by member dues. It serves its members and the region by:Promoting excellence in local government.Evaluating the impact of pending state and federal legislation on municipalities.Articulating municipal concerns and advocating municipal positions on local, regional, state and national issues.Fostering intergovernmental communication and cooperation.Providing research, technical assistance, training and leadership development opportunities to members.Addressing growth, transportation and water conservation issues affecting the region.Serving as a strong advocate for municipalities.

•Serve on the Board for the Village of Hampshire; hold a seat on Public Works Committee; Planning andZoning Committees; Business Development Commission; Chairman, Economic Development Committee.• Work collaboratively with municipalities and local government organizations; also heavily involved incommunity relations and outreach to the residents of Hampshire.• Implemented new website for the Village; passed a social media ordinance to allow both the Villageand Police Department to possess Facebook pages; worked with the Chief of Police to obtain severalgrants; executed Office365 email system; worked with team to build 5-year tech plan for the Village.• Past Chairman of Public Safety and Economic Development; Current Chairman Public Relations; andMember of Planning and Zoning, Village Services, Fields and Trials, and Public Works.

• Oversee technology administration throughout multiple locations in Northern Illinois; upgrade and replacetech equipment for company that sells a wide range of John Deere tractors and outdoor power equipment.• Managed project planning and implementation of new wireless hardware; VPN tunnels between stores; anactive directory environment that all stores can share; new Citrix-based system utilizing four servers; a newbackup solution; new Office365-based Exchange email/SharePoint system; and virtual remote app system.

Supervise employees in Technical Department; run tech operations (five separate buildings); overseeprojects; train and support staff; upkeep buildings as resource to ensure effective technology systems.• Provide significant input into technical project planning, scope, budget, timelines and implementation.• Lead and participate in meetings with district-wide decision makers, administrators and key personnel.• Acknowledged as a trusted resource for overall vision and insight into current needs and requirements.Selected Achievements:• Successfully managed high-level, multi-structured projects such as district-wide recycling, asset tracking,technology equity, RFPs, SMART board, as well as AV management and implementation.• Design audio and projection systems; oversee AV operations on a district-wide level; determine scope ofwork and bidding process in collaboration with administration; oversee all projects and vendor selection.• Heavily involved with iPad and Chromebook initiatives, including multi-project planning and execution.• Wrote an RFP for 23,000 Chrome Books; sourced and negotiated with several companies on optimal bid;assigned a scoring matrix; worked with stakeholders and staff; made recommendations to school board.• Redesigned SOP for all Chrome Book operations and support; wrote accompanying book and guidelines.• Selected to take charge of the District’s Repair Center for 1:1 deployment across multiple locations.
