In my role as Senior Manager of Product Development, I am responsible for managing the design, development, and implementation of future state digital solutions as part of our Digital Roadmap. I oversee the governance and management of my team and key stakeholders to ensure projects are executed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. I collaborate with business and IT teams to align product strategies with business objectives, analyze feedback to shape product features, and coordinate cross-functional teams. My focus is on delivering large-scale programs while adhering to enterprise architecture guidelines and security policies, leveraging my strong leadership, technical skills, and communication abilities.

With over 20 years of web development, design, and system architecture experience across various industries, including over 12 years of experience in energy-related web development, Michael Rennick is the Product Lead in SourceOne’s Business Solutions team. The Business Solutions team provides SourceOne’s strategic practice for tariff analysis, energy billing and utility bill verification.Mr. Rennick oversees the product ecosystem for SourceOne, including it's flagship energy management system, EmSYS. In addition, he has been tasked with expanding SourceOne's abilities and capabilities to provide data and analytics for water systems, integration with third party systems like Energy Star Portfolio Manager, as well as a migration to a microservices architecture.As the product lead, he understand the needs of clients/stakeholders and translates those needs into useful applications that are built on top of state-of-the-art platforms, specifically .Net, knockout, angularJS, and/or jQuery.He works fluently at all levels of the development process, including: UI design, UI programming, back-end business logic, and data access (including ORMs like LINQ to SQL and EF).Project ExperiencePrior to SourceOne, Mr. Rennick was a team leader at Energy Points and Activehours supervising the front-end development team. He excelled at communicating with internal and external stakeholders.Mr. Rennick has vast experience with start-ups bringing products to market quickly, cheaply, and with flexibility.Not a typical programmer, Mr. Rennick started out his career studying philosophy and psychology and working toward an academic/research position in the humanities. He discovered web programming and was captivated by its immediate, tangible results. Nearly twenty years later Mr. Rennick has developed a vast array of programming skills.

I lead a team that was responsible for the development of client-facing applications that allowed Energy Points customers and partners to interact with sustainability data generated by the Energy Points core system.

Formerly 110 Studios, Limerock Solutions was a full-service web development firm. The goal was to create solid software components that can be plugged into "custom" web projects, reducing set-up costs and increasing code maintainability. All projects were backed by a central CMS called Cascade that I crafted using ASP.NET MVC.

Develop internal web-based applications using .NET programming, concentrating on the MVC approach. Assist with migration to, and integration with, Personify (a brand of Association Management Software).

The position called on me to oversee software development projects, grant writing projects, sales and marketing, as well as service groups.

I was responsible for developing the software that allowed the journal, Teachers College Record, to move its entire operation online. I created the web site for the journal (in classic ASP and VBScript). It's still running today, more or less untouched, and is still one of the most innovative academic journals in the world. I also created a web-based system for submitting articles to the journal. The same system, named "eval" also handles all peer-reviews and the editorial decision-making process.
