Technical Design Architect
CurrentLead TDA with responsibility for design, implementation and management of a vast IT infrastructure in schools and local authority’s in the North East of England.My main roles include:-Working with a goal of moving almost all services hosted in our on-premise datacenter to the Azure cloud within 5 years-Senior Management responsibilities-Management of a small team of technical engineers-Working with customers to design and deliver projects to their specifications-Deployment and Management of Office 365 tenancies including the migration of new customers from other cloud / on premise mail solutions to Office 365. -Integration of on premise AD's from multiple customer sites into Office 365/Windows Azure AD using DirSync/FIM. Customisation of FIM filters to ensure only relevant account information and object types are projected to the cloud directory-Management of our datacenter and shared customer infrastructure-Management of WAN and VPN links to over 130 sites-Management of a large Active Directory domains including Group Policy architecture, troubleshooting and design that spans over 130 customer sites in the North East of England-Automation of Active Directory account housekeeping using PowerShell scripts to ensure managed fields such as Office location stay consistent on common groups of users. This consistency allows for further automation expansion such as granting permissions on shared Office 365 calendars to users based on Office location as well as ensuring data that is exported to other LoB systems such as helpdesk / system centre is always correct
