I used the ConnectWise BrightGauge business reporting product to deliver complex operational reports and dashboards for Radius management. I developed advanced SQL in SQL Server and produced designs for Java applications to implement invoice customisation and client document integration (using JSON Web Services).

Delighted to have been engaged in a key IT function with Wexford Local Development.It's really important to connect directly with the people who need help. I have 18 years Social Services experience and I focused on strengthening the power of client engagement and enabelment.My role is was a front line social services support role, focusing on process automation via technology, via technology (Microsoft Visual Basic and Microsoft Access Jet Engine). I engineered the main system completely from scratch. The new system rolled out in February 2020 across county Wexford. I performed multiple roles: Architect, Designer, Engineer, DBA/Data Modeler and Technical Support.

I provided Microsoft Access Jet Engine Data Modelling, Data Design and engineering with SQL, Microsoft Visual Basic / Microsoft Visual Studio, to multiple projects and systems.

I was responsible for all aspects of Technology Strategy & Enterprise Architecture for the Active Points platform, as it rapidly grew from a PHP/MySQL platform. I redeveloped our technology stack from the ground up.I engineered a new real-time Enterprise Information Integration Service based on Java2E, Apache Camel / ServiceMix and Apache TomEE, enabling the automatic integration and exchange information through RESTful JSON Web Services, MS spreadsheets, CSVs and many other data sources, including key fitness devices such as MyZone, Fitbit, Garmin, SwimTag and social media channels, all via REST. These I aggregated within MySQL.I moved our deployment to elastic cloud VPS equipment, based on CentOS, allowing us to scale up and throttle back for maximum efficiency. I worked hard to make applications highly usable, scalable, fast, mobile-friendly and multi-device. I introduced Hadoop-Cloudera was for data management & analytics.

My focus was to embed and improve Engineering planning, development and quality processes, in addition to managing staff and recruitment. Strengthening the Agile process, I introduced Design Thinking to further differentiate Scurri in Usability and Quality perspectives.

As part of the growing Ireland & EMEA team, I was responsible for overall project delivery and client satisfaction, ensuring that our work was of the highest quality, on time and within budget. I worked closely with our key client Datalex, ensuring that EPAM's work was to the highest quality and delivered on time through effective sprint management.Travel brought me to Budapest, Ukraine and Minsk (Belarus), where I presented the development roadmap to the EPAM engineering teams and advised on their work. They responded with strong enthusiasm.Founded in 1993, EPAM has rapidly grown world-wide and is #8 on Forbes' 25 Fastest Growing Public Tech Companies.I departed EPAM for medical reasons. EPAM is a wonderful company, I would recommend it very highly.

I delivered Health Care Reform, (supporting President Obama’s Health Insurance policies), in record time to 9 clients, using agile development collaboration across the 3 geographies. Solutions sales & licences accounted for the majority of Cúram sales (typically > 50% of sales and > $50M annually). Over my remaining past 3 years with IBM Cúram, implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act was the prime outcome. This was an intense 3 year project to implement a set of brand new health insurance programs in the United States. Post Cúram Version 6 (April 2011), this was the single largest project within IBM Cúram.In just under 18 months, using a high innovate Agile process, 9 releases were delivered in the context of incomplete Federal requirements. 2 further releases enabled 9 customers to go live with their implementations on 1 October 2013, the mandated deadline. It was a success, completely down to each and every brilliant team member.

Built and led a large geographically distributed team of Cúram technical implementation knowledge workers. Starting from 30, growing to 250 Cúram technical consultants world-wide (New Zealand, Australia, India, UK, US and Canada), our team delivered high value, differentiated Cúram technical consulting.My focus was:Exceeding all key KPIs such as utilization (>75%), margin (27%) and revenue (typically up to $50M p.a.). I put in place all key systems & processes: recruitment, rapid on-boarding, certification, knowledge management, implementation methodologies, project resourcing, people & line management and performance reviews.Capability development through Cúram implementation best-practices, technical knowledge management and growth of expertise.Technical governance, guidance and review of Cúram projects globally, as well as mentoring my management team and my senior technical consultants.Joining Cúram Software in 2002, I held technical leadership roles on the Utah eREP project (first adopter of Cúram Version 2 – Java/J2EE), moving to Directorship of Technical Consultancy within Global Services.

Today, I look back on my role in MSD with great fondness. The responsibility I had was huge, the people I worked with were spectacular and I loved being a Public Servant. I delivered architecture solutions for EDS public and private sector clients, comprising Enterprise Architecture strategy, component-based software architectures, application integration and systems management solutions.

Delivered numerous technical consulting projects for banking, insurance and utility clients, including the architecture and technical delivery of the first large-scale Oracle client-server system in Scotland.
