I've been involved with RDBMS-backed systems for over three decades. My background includes building and enhancing client/server and multi-tiered systems, developing website applications (essentially since websites were a thing), and creating console-based utilities and batch tools.My past roles include: a decade as a client-server and web-dev staff consultant, nearly eight FTE years as a multi-role healthcare software developer, self-employed as an independent contractor, and recently, a couple of years doing FTE as a developer/engineer with America's finest financial powerhouse. My sector exposure includes finance, retail, media, public utilities, defense, and more.Since mid-2015, I've cut back on my professional activities, in an attempt to "retire."
