Scientist, Manager of the University of Florida Shands Cancer Center Transgenic (Tg) Core Facility: I executed all daily organization, management, and performed all aspects of Core experiments including pronuclear microinjection, blastocyst injection, aggregation, rederivation, ESC culture, DNA isolation and prep, and associated ancillary Tg techniques. I offered individual training on microsurgical/anesthetic/breeding techniques. I coded and developed the core’s website design and handled maintenance. During this time, I became (and remain) the first non-faculty, primary author of active IACUC-approved Animal Care and Use Protocol. I was responsible for authorship on all IACUC/ ACS/ EH&S Protocols and SOPs. I was assigned as IT Information Services Manager (ISM) for Transgenic Core and Dr. E. Scott Lab computing resources from 2006 to 2007, and as part of a two-man team implemented new security standards for the Scott Lab and Tg Core IT resources. It was during this time I became more involved in the IT dimensions of Core facilities, and the security measures needed for multi-user computer stations. I successfully generated over 350 genetically modified murine progeny.
