Engineering Director
CurrentMost recently I have led a team of data engineers, analytics engineers, and data scientists, providing analytics as a service to multiple game titles in different phases of production. This included designing, developing and operating a cloud-native data ingestion/storage platform, working with teams to take game instrumentation from event schema to data models within the warehouse, developing reporting and embedding data analysts/scientists. In addition, I was responsible for providing observability solutions for logs, metrics and trace data to all teams within the company. As part of this I have worked across a broad range of technologies, directed cross-functional projects/teams/collaboration and supported many different stakeholders (leadership, game designers, marketing, engineering, etc). Part of my journey at ProblablyMonsters has included helping grow the company from a startup of ~25 people. My first couple years were spent wearing many hats and bringing what is now our central technology organization to life. This has given me first hand experience in what it takes to support all aspects of the business (technology infrastructure, build services, managing a shared game engine, etc).**Technologies** - Cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP - Data Warehousing: Snowflake, dbt, BigQuery, Athena- Observability: Datadog, Grafana Cloud, Vector- CI/CD: GitHub, Jenkins, Perforce- Languages: SQL, Python, Java, Go.
