I had the privilege and honor of serving as the Mayor's Aide under Alvaro Arzú Irigoyen, former President of Guatemala and a five-term Mayor of Guatemala City. This vibrant city serves as the capital and largest urban center of Guatemala, representing the most populous and economically developed region in Central America.This experience was truly enriching. I oversaw and managed tasks assigned to Directors, Chiefs, and Assistant Mayors, focusing on improving communication between them. My collaboration extended to working closely with the Mayor on communication and digital endeavors. I spearheaded the creation and management of his social media profiles, which achieved remarkable success, garnering over 500,000 organic followers on Facebook and 200,000 organic followers on Twitter.I played a pivotal role in forming a dedicated social media unit within the Department of Social Communication. This unit managed the growth and administration of Guatemala City's official social media accounts, achieving impressive results with over 260,000 organic Facebook followers, more than 600,000 organic Twitter followers, and a YouTube channel hosting thousands of videos, collectively viewed over two million times.My journey also included participation in significant events alongside the Mayor, where we championed Guatemala City's vital role as a driving force behind the national economy. We actively sought to attract investments to bolster job creation and growth within the city.I had the privilege of interacting with individuals, as well as members of the government and diplomatic community, who engaged with the Mayor. I meticulously ensured follow-up on tasks and commitments arising from these interactions. After a period of service at CABEI, I rejoined the Mayor's Office in 2018, only to face the unfortunate passing of Mayor Arzú a few months after resuming my work alongside him.

In my role as Assistant Executive Director at the Central American Bank for Economic Integration, I was deeply involved in the operations of this international multilateral financial institution. Our primary focus was on utilizing our resources effectively to foster development projects that could address poverty, inequalities, and enhance regional integration in Central America. The overarching goal was to bolster the competitive standing of our partners within the global economy, all while maintaining a keen eye on environmental sustainability.The CABEI's headquarters were situated in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, and I was responsible for overseeing the executive duties of the Directorate for Guatemala. Working in tandem with the Country Management team in Guatemala, I actively participated in the monthly sessions of the CABEI Board of Directors held in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. These sessions were instrumental in shaping the institution's strategic direction and decision-making processes.In addition to my involvement in the regular board sessions, I also had the privilege of attending the CABEI Board of Governors Meetings. In the year 2016, I represented our organization in the vibrant city of Panama for the board meeting, which provided an invaluable platform for high-level discussions and collaborations. Subsequently, in 2017, I was honored to participate in the board meeting held in the picturesque city of Antigua Guatemala, where crucial decisions and policies were deliberated upon.Throughout my tenure, I played an essential role in facilitating communication, coordination, and collaboration between different departments, enabling the seamless execution of projects and initiatives aimed at driving development and progress in the Central American region.

During my time as an Investment Advisor at Invest in Guatemala, my primary focus was on driving growth within three key sectors: Light Manufacturing, Forest Industry, and Agroindustry. My objective was to attract foreign investment that would not only boost productivity and create jobs but also align with our broader economic agenda. To achieve this, I strategically pinpointed projects with the potential to make a significant impact on local employment rates and industrial output.Central to my approach was a strong commitment to sustainability. In sectors such as Light Manufacturing, I actively sought investments that prioritized environmentally friendly practices. Similarly, in the Forest Industry, I emphasized the importance of responsible resource management. Within the realm of Agroindustry, my goal was to strengthen the entire agricultural value chain, thereby enhancing livelihoods and contributing to the country's GDP.A crucial aspect of my role involved positioning Guatemala as an attractive investment destination. By leveraging our existing infrastructure and skilled workforce through strategic networking, I effectively showcased the advantages of investing in our nation. Additionally, I played an integral role in streamlining the investment process by collaborating closely with government bodies to expedite permits and approvals. Overall, my efforts contributed significantly to making Guatemala a compelling choice for investors seeking not only financial returns but also a positive and lasting impact on society.
