Responsible for supervision and technical oversight of 46 technicians, engineers and administrative staff who maintained and broadcasted over 375 channels 24/7. Maintained a 99.9%+ availability of service to customers.

Responsible for supervision and technical oversight of 28 technicians, engineers and administrative staff broadcasting over 375 channels 24/7, achieving better than a 99.8% availability rating. Developed and administered training programs for my department and two other departments in technical development and employee relations. Forecasted and managed capital expenditures budget of $4.2M and $23M annual operating budget. Assisted in the build out of technical elements for the DirecTV Los Angeles Broadcasting Center. Successfully lead the Technical Services Group's effort in testing, installing and integrating the equipment, systems and software for DirecTV's launch of local programming to 42 major US markets.

Responsible for internal, external and intersite telecommunications including PBX, WAN & LAN as well as a customer billing system and all video programming delivered via fiber optics. Developed a tracking technique for the customer billing system, which significantly cut down the amount of customer billing errors and reduced monthly costs. Additional duties include tuning receivers and assessing feed quality, repairing/modifying receive antennas, troubleshooting DTMF cueing devices. Assisted in the set up and launch of DirecTV Satellite broadcast service.

Responsible for: Corporate Communications' Customer Support for eight clients in Southern California, Tucson Arizona and Glenross Scotland -- Customer Relations, Service Level Agreements, Issues Solution, Financial and Performance Metrics, New Business Recommendations and Financial Forecasting. Lead the department's Process Re-engineering efforts that improved the quality, productivity and restructured our department. Instrumental in creating a positive image and greater usage of Corporate Communications services through greater sensitivity to customer needs, identified problems and coordinated resolutions.

Managed 24 technicians and engineers. Successfully designed and implemented an integrated digital network providing the backbone for corporate-wide video, voice and data communications.

• Supervised 15 employees in maintaining internal and intersite telecommunications, data, local-area network and cable within the annual budget of $4.1M. Developed company policies for calling card use, cellular telephones and other communications activities that resulted in a reduction to monthly expenses. My cost saving suggestions and direction of the Corporate Telecom Section resulted in a Superior Performer Award for 1988. Coordinated communications efforts for numerous major company activities including General Motors Board of Directors Meeting, Indonesian satellite launches and San Diego Air Show -- received a letter of accommodation from Allen Puckett, the CEO of Hughes/GMAC for work the October 1986 GM Board of Directors Meeting.

Managed two groups of 16 employees supporting the corporate intersite network services, the Corporate Phone Directory, Personnel Location Information Service. First Section Head able to produce and deliver the corporate phone directory on time and on $7.3M budget.
