During tenure as CTO, led the transformation of Topix’s business and technology. Increased revenue and page views over 10x using Big Data analytics, data driven product management, and best-in-class custom campaign creation and campaign management tools. As CTO managed Engineering, Product, and Operations and was involved hands-on in the entire technology stack from frontend design to backend data storage. Topix was acquired by PCH in August 2019. Promoted from Senior Software Engineer to Architect.Designed and implemented most of Spoke’s backend technology and infrastructure written with Java/Struts and SQL. Projects included: database abstraction layer, high-speed email processing pipeline, and Lucene search index. Responsible for all database architecture, including adding tables/indexes/materialized views to the DB and optimizing queries.During the last 2 years, was given increasing engineering management responsibilities, including planning, scoping, scheduling, and assigning tasks. De facto ran engineering after the departure of Spoke’s VPE in late 2004.

Recruited to Siebel Systems to help design and prototype the new Siebel 8 architecture. Prototyped a declarative application framework (similar to Mozilla’s XUL) in C# .NET. Worked with Siebel’s Chief Architect and some of the original Siebel engineers.
