Mike serves as General Counsel and Director of Labor Relations for AGC-MN, supporting prime and sub construction contractors' goals of bringing skill, integrity, and responsibility to the construction industry through collaborative relations with labor, government, communities, and owners-developers. He facilitates negotiations with unions and construction employers, manages a suite of form construction contracts, teaches, and advises on issues from legislation to compliance. Mike has been named a "Power 30" construction lawyer by Minnesota Lawyer (https://tinyurl.com/ywkzsjdk). A Minnesota native, Mike graduated from NYU Law School and began learning as a law clerk with appellate judges. In litigation, he increasingly recognized business solutions that detangled knotty problems and caused him to move into business roles as general counsel and chief operating officer. His practice further broadened to include conflict resolution, mediation, and teaching, and encompassed organization development lessons about culture, leadership intentionality, feedforward, and collaborative processes that informed his approach to his practice. A worldwide FCPA audit performed by Mike harnessed these insights to create a new compliance paradigm for a large client.Expertises: Contract, Labor & Employment, Intellectual Property, SaaS, International, Mediation/Conflict Resolution, Negotiation, Leadership, Ethics, and Teaching.
