This ministry position is responsible for offering both staff and guests spiritual care. As the staff is the “first flock” it is the Director of Spiritual Wellness & Discipleship’s (DSW&D) responsibility to come alongside staff in prayer, support, and counsel for anything they might be facing. If guests during intake opt-in to speak with the DSW&D, open lines of communication will be open for prayer, support, and counsel. This position will also coordinate faith programs for guests focused on discipleship, recovery-focused groups, and chapel. This position is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, scheduling, and filling chapel times as needed. Along with all other ministry positions, there is an expectation of sharing the love of Jesus Christ with guests and visitors alike of the Topeka Rescue Mission.RESPONSIBILITIES:· Coordinate with staff seeking any spiritual care on their behalf as well as spiritual care for guests.· Create and execute weekly devotions to send throughout staff by using Scope and Sequence technique. (Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly planning.)· Visit each department’s connection group on a monthly basis to lead their weekly staff devotions.· Provide weekly guest classes focused on Biblical principles and discipleship.· Work alongside Rapid Rehousing and Distribution teams with first home visit. Offer to bless the home if the individual desires.· Offer staff and guests direction for community spiritual support.· Create a “Rhythm of Life” with department directors to then help implement it with their departments. (Rhythm of Life is a structured and written out sequence of how one will integrate spiritual disciplines into their everyday life through prayer, mediation, accountability, rest, etc.)· Oversee interns seeking pastoral work with at-risk populations.· Be a leading learner by continually learning more about the Lord’s leading in their life through education, peers, hardships, and joys.
