I'm Mike, an art director and senior designer based in New York City. Over the past 15+ years, I’ve worked in creative roles across various industries, including retail, lifestyle, entertainment, culinary, real estate, and architecture. I’ve enjoyed working on many large-scale projects throughout my career. Recently, I led the website design and management for Jamestown’s entire portfolio, including the flagships - Chelsea Market, Ponce City Market, and Buckhead Village. I also led the roll-out of Jamestown’s real estate API, managing third-party developers and coordinating internal stakeholders to upgrade systems across nearly 20 property websites. I established and oversaw the Squarespace Enterprise work environment, and managed the relationship with Squarespace that made these projects possible.My art direction experience includes leading the rebranding of seven grocery-anchored shopping centers to give each center a unique aesthetic while maintaining core branding cohesiveness. I also directed the rebranding for the 18 Tremont building in Boston and was on the architecture team that redesigned the corporate spaces for the NHL and Madison Square Garden.Being an art director on the team that redesigned the Verizon retail experience was one of my proudest accomplishments. From retail design to branding systems development and documentation, it was a massive undertaking that required collaboration and communication across multiple teams. I was also part of the team that designed, built, and managed three Levi's Workshops in LA, SF, and NYC. I wore many hats on this project, from front-end design and development to print materials and signage design to retail curation and event DJing.Through my experience on these projects and many others, I’ve developed a management style rooted in empathy. Being a good leader and art director means understanding my team's and clients' needs and goals. The best creative work comes from collaboration, and I strive to foster an environment where everyone feels heard and valued.I'm a proud Parsons graduate, passionate about using design to create meaningful experiences for people. I'm eager to collaborate with and inspire others to bring ideas to life and am always looking for new challenges and opportunities to grow.
