I currently provide consulting regarding Oil and Gas with an emphasis on seismic acquisition, processing, interpretation, and seismic data management. Being semi-retired, I do this on a part-time, as-needed basis. In my former job at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, I was the Director of Geophysics. In this role, I set the direction for and provided oversight of geophysical data acquisition, processing, and special projects for Anadarko. This includes state-of-the-art marine and land acquisition, advanced processing including depth imaging, and attribute work focused on lithologic type and quality for marine projects. Recent accomplishments include Anadarko's first operated OBN in the Gulf of Mexico and the implementation of advanced FWI techniques for velocity model building. Onshore, my group is advancing the use of seismic for exploration and development. We focus on controlled amplitude workflows, advanced attribute generation, and the integration of geology, petrophysics, and geophysicsIn my previous role, I developed a plan to move Anadarko to a digital central data management architecture for E&P Data. My then team totally revamped Anadarko's seismic data management process, putting seismic data online for APC's interpreters. We established a single delivery point for APC's drilling and geologic operational data, allowing employees, partners, and vendors to access data from a single portal, then pass that information directly into Anadarko's digital well file system. Further, we established a process for digital directional and MWD data to be processed from the rig to the geoscientist's projects at a cost that is economical for multi-rig resource plays. Finally, we implemented an internal GIS system that garnered APC the ESRI Special Achievement in GIS (SAG) Award in 2009. Successfully merged Anadarko and Kerr McGee's E&P systems, including a massive conversion to a new geophysical interpretation system with minimal interruption in APC's daily activities.I also have experience as Chief Geophysicist at both Anadarko Petroleum and Union Pacific Resources, and CIO at Union Pacific Resources.As a geophysical interpreter, I have worked the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf Coast, Mid-Continent, and the Rockies. I have drilled multiple wells both onshore and offshore. I have also served as Exploration Advisor for Anadarko Petroleum, advising teams and individuals regarding the geotechnical aspects of prospects and their suitability for drilling. Finally I have taught classes in Seismic Interpretation and basic seismic processing.
