Mike Silane was Managing Director, Portfolio Management-Southwest Region for BNY Mellon Wealth Management. He worked with team leaders and wealth managers throughout the region to ensure that the highest service and risk management standards are maintained at all times. Mike spent the past 20+ years working with high-net-worth individuals, families and trusts to ensure that their investment and wealth management objectives were being met. He was a frequent lecturer about the economy, personal finance topics and the investment markets.Mike joined BNY Mellon in 2003 after 10 years with Bank of America’s Private Wealth Management Group. He has an M.B.A. with an emphasis in Finance and a B.A. in Business Administration from Loyola Marymount University. He also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Mike is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Societies of Orange County and Los Angeles. He has been a member of multiple investment committees within the company and he currently sits on the firm’s Equity Strategy Committee.Mike is active in the community and believes strongly in personal/professional development. He has co-chaired BNY Mellon’s Western Region Mentorship Program, which developed young leaders within the company and he taught finance classes as an adjunct professor at CSU Fullerton and CSU Pomona. Mike is also a member of St. Joseph’s Hospital finance committee. For the past few years, he has combined his love of family and sports as an active volunteer coach for his son’s sport teams (baseball, soccer and flag football). He has also become an avid fan of his daughter’s Pitzer lacrosse team.
