At DEVCake we create digital experiences for businesses that want to take a step into the digital world. We use Gamification, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and all the latest technology to make the best apps or websites, customized just for you. DEVCake was founded together with three of my friends. My primary role is that of lead developer and all task related to running a company.

'Saxion Innovatielab' approached me to research and document the best practices for interactive 360-degree videos in the Unity engine for the GearVR, Google Cardboard, Windows Desktop and Webbrowser. The innovatielab was interested to discover if 360-degree videos could be used as an extra tool for future students to learn. After some demonstrations have been build, the next assignment is to create an interactive 360-degree video experience that trains students for future job applications.

The Technology Entrepreneurship College (TEC) provides entrepreneurial minds the opportunity to propel their personal abilities through the TEC developed ‘honours program entrepreneurship (HPE)’ for entrepreneurial students in the Netherlands. From September 2014 till February 2015 I was doing an internship at 038 Games. At this company I was involved in the whole development process of a serious game for the national police academy. The goal of this game was to teach the students how to write a police report. The key element here is that we wanted to teach them in a whole new way (by using a game). This has been accomplished by giving the students a complete police reports (which contained errors). By using this report they had to recreate the scenario, because there were errors in the report they never could get it right, this was to teach them how important it was to be precise when writing such a report. After this was done they were required to improve the police report and this would go on until a student recreated the scenario. The game came with a full toolset for the teachers so they could create new police reports and scenarios to keep the game interesting even after playing multiple games.

From March 2014 till November 2014 I came in a unique situation within study association Syntaxis. Together with a fellow board member I took on an extra board role of external relations. This board role has the main tasks:- Handling incoming e-mails from companies. - Compose contracts for companies Syntaxis is/was doing business with.- Meetings with companies to discuss how we can help each other. During this period I learned a lot about how to get in contact with companies and how I should prepare for meetings. Daring to ensure the value of Syntaxis by choosing for quality instead of quantity. Coming up with new ways on how we can create value for companies.

From September 2013 till November 2014 I was the chairman of study association Syntaxis. During this period I had the responsibility to make sure everybody within Syntaxis did their “jobs”. The main tasks I did during this period where the following:- Leading meetings (General member meetings & board meetings).- Making agendas for different kinds of meetings- Daily leadership of the study associationDuring this period I’ve learned a lot, in sense of leadership qualities. Furthermore this board position helped me improve my social skills in a positive way, both for business as personal situations. The whole year was a big learning experience and helped me become the person I am today.
