Driven to create value, I’m an accomplished board director and entrepreneurial CEO who has built globally competitive businesses for public companies in renewable energy and manufacturing. I consistently grew EBITDA in complex markets, managing commodity risk, regulatory compliance, customer and stakeholder interests, M & A integration, and capital markets engagement. Extensive international experience in development, capital investment and operations has included the U.S., Mexico, South America, and Asia.Most recently, I was COO of the $3B (1,500MW) Renewable Generation Group of Algonquin Power & Utilities. I successfully deployed over $2B to develop, construct and operate over 1,100 MW of renewable assets with tax equity as appropriate. Wind, solar , hydro, and cogeneration assets were in 12 energy markets across 36 sites with associated asset management and energy trading. Over seven years, I was a key executive contributor to the combined utilities and renewables enterprise growth from $1.5B to $10B, achieving total shareholder returns of 21% and 23.7% in the last 5 and 10 years, respectively. Today, I create value in board and advisory roles in energy and natural resources where traditional business models are facing unforeseen challenges. My advisory work in mining is lowering both carbon footprint and operating costs through renewable energy strategies and mining automation technologies. Additionally, advisory work for a First Nations equity partner is optimizing their $1.2B renewable asset with financial and operational oversight while aligning a global energy partner. Collectively, my director roles combine extensive business leadership and a strong governance background in both public and not for profit boards.
