Although my official title was a test engineer, I had very diverse roles during my time at Teradyne. Worked directly with the mechanical, hardware, and software engineering groups to develop a high speed pick and place machine. Developed the control system architecture, which utilized Ethercat communication between a master controller, motor amplifiers, and I/O modules from different vendors. Assembled first prototype and created the sensor mapping between hardware and software.Trained manufacturing on mechanical assembly, wiring and calibration, which was used to develop work instructions and QA documentation. Developed a thorough production test and initialization process to verify pneumatic function, proper wiring, perform critical mechanical alignments, calibrate hand off positions and run a full speed functional test for every system. Developed mechanical test fixtures and test software for individual robotic modules, determined common failure components and transferred to a repair center in the Philippines.Transferred internal robotic assembly and test to a contract manufacturer in Singapore.
