For example, FuelMaster requires a cable to connect the Master and Satellite Fuel Management Units (FMUs) and in some installations that is not reasonable or possible due to distance, obstacles or cost. I researched a wireless serial radio solution which was tested and proven out by our team at Fireball and subsequently became a standard product for FuelMaster which they sold to their other distributors as a verified solution.

Charon was cloud computing before cloud computing was cool and I was excited to be part of that! Full blown SaaS provider using the available technology at the time (primarily citrix and some RDP based deployments) based on the infrastructure and processes developed by FutureLink Corp, the pioneer in hosted software solutions and first ASP (Application Service Provider) now known as SaaS.Responsibilities:• Responsible for consultative sales of Charon’s Define IT, Ensure IT, Thin IT, Secure IT, Deliver IT, and Business Productivity products and services. Charon was the flagship Canadian reseller of Citrix, Checkpoint and ASP services with locations across CanadaAchievements:• Assisted in opening the Edmonton Branch.• Signed Charon’s largest ASP Customer which was also the first international environmental testing laboratory to move all of their IT operations to an external data center including LIMS (laboratory Information Management System), software controlling laboratory equipment, ERP as well as their time and attendance system. Really a very early concept of what has become now IoT and IIoT as all of their test equipment stayed in their laboratories worldwide, but all the software and processing was centralized in Charon's data centers, secure, accessible, backed up and fully redundant. • Instrumental in the development of Charon First Nations (a partnership company with a NWT Land Claims Group to develop IT opportunities in the north) through transforming a customer relationship into a business partnership.• Assisted in the development of the Northwest Territories Proposal to the Industry Canada Northern Rural Broadband Initiative. This proposal was subsequently accepted and granted to the group of aboriginal organizations from across the Northwest Territories who eventually comprised the committee.

• I was responsible for the design and building coordination of OA’s Wireless Broadband Internet Infrastructure. This included securing real estate, towers and rooftop space for wireless propagation, securing Industry Canada licensing for the operation of licensed band radio equipment, and municipal business and building permits where required. I also successfully defended against an appeal of a large distribution tower, which was crucial in moving the service to two major rural centers.•I was responsible for Custom Wireless LAN Design both as a support to the sales team and in direct sales to customers. This included identifying appropriate sites for broadcast and repeating of signal, path studies using Micropath 2000 and GPS mapping software, physical site surveys to identify natural and man-made obstacles, and quoting of capital and operating costs.• I assisted in the finding and securing of partners, re-sellers and installers for the Airlink product lines, focused mainly in the high-end committed information rate products where I was able to develop the original Performance Partner Program.• I was very involved in exploring and developing new business opportunities for OA’s Airlink Wireless products. I researched Internet Co-operatives and other innovative plans to bring high-speed access to small rural centers.

• Achieved Top Sales for the OA Group of Companies in 1999 with over $3.4 Million in sales, and was inducted into the "Presidents Club" for yearly sales over $2M. • First to reach $1 Million in sales for 1998, 1999 and 2000. • Achieved 114% of Quota in 1998 ($2.7M Total with a quota of $200K/month) and 115% of Quota in 1999 ($3.4M Total with a quota of $250K/month, the highest quota in the company)

I paid for university working summers for Alberta Natural Gas starting in 1990 as part of their computer department rolling out PC's, installing applications, end user support, installation of network equipment, etc. Subsequently I did side business building PC's, web site work, PC support, and technology consulting.
