As the Chief Marketing Officer at Onnit, I am responsible for attracting new customers, making sure those customers become fanatical, and coming up with creative ways to spread our message of Total Human Optimization. Working at a highly technical company like InMotion Hosting forced me to sharpen not only my technical marketing skills, but to also develop extremely comprehensive plans and execution strategies. While at InMotion, I was responsible for developing and managing all Online strategy for both the InMotion Hosting and Web Hosting Hub brands. I lead a team of specialists in web development, graphic design, affiliate marketing, and SEO. I implemented a comprehensive SEO strategy resulting in the development of several successful original content pieces. This plan helped raise organic search rankings for targeted search phrases and keywords. I also helped expand affiliate marketing efforts with a systematic approach to targeting new affiliates, and optimizing relationships with existing affiliates. My biggest accomplishment during my time at InMotion was the part I played in overseeing the redesign, development, and launch of the new InMotion Hosting website.

Embedr was a passion project that a good friend and I created to help solve a problem that we had with web videos. In 2008, YouTube wasn’t as ubiquitous as it is today, and people were using dozens of different video sites to host their videos. We created a free service that allowed people to create custom video playlists from many different video hosting sites and then embed the playlist as a widget anywhere on the web. The service while niche, was extremely popular and garnered a lot of attention from some big names including, TechCrunch, Lifehacker, and PCWorld Magazine. In 2013, after deciding to focus on other business ventures, my partner and I sold our interests in Embedr.com.

During my time at Active, I was fortunate to work with an immensely talented group of individuals who’s love and dedication for building a brand laid the groundwork for the ambition that I have today. Like many others who worked at Active during the 2000's, I started as a salesman at one of the original store locations. As the company grew, I saw an opportunity to grow as well when a position for an Online Marketing Manager opened in the new eCommerce department. I was able to talk my way into the position ironically only after Googling what SEO stood for. We enjoyed tremendous successes at Active, and I benefitted significantly from senior management’s trust to let me learn on the job. Because of that trust, I was able to learn to manage an incredible amount of responsibilities including:Developing and maintaining e-commerce content and systems, managing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and pay per click (PPC) campaigns, e-mail marketing, affiliate marketing, web design and development, video editing, graphic design, web analytics, direct mail catalog campaigns, content marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), social media and community management, advertising budgeting, event marketing, guerilla marketing.
