ASMALLWORLD is an invitation-only niche online social network representing 300,000 of the world’s most wealthy and powerful individuals located primarily in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the US. ASMALLWORLD’s online advertising clients include many of the worlds’ premiere luxury brands such as LVMH, Gucci, Cartier, Rolex and Mercedes. As CTO Michael reported directly to the Chief Executive Officer in NYC and to the Chairman in Stockholm, Sweden. Specific responsibilities included defining technology strategy and leading the redesign, re-architecture and implementation of a PHP and Ruby-on-Rails social network with event management and online publishing features along with a DART-based ad serving/tracking environment.Michael recruited and managed a 20-member technology team geographically distributed across 5 time zones. He defined, executed and managed the full software development lifecycle including change management, requirements analysis, technical architecture, project management, QA testing and customer support. Michael created budgets, managed vendor relationships and delivered regular updates and presentations to luxury brand partners, investors, board members, management and staff.
