About Mike Stanley

I have over 39 years experience in semiconductors at Motorola, Freescale, and finally NXP. I started out in bipolar circuit design, moved to CAD software development, on to RTL design and chip integration and then to sensors. I have experience managing domestic and international engineering teams. My last role at NXP was as a member of the Security and IoT Solutions team within the MICR group (think MCUs and apps processors) at NXP. My focus areas were sensors and machine learning.I retired from NXP Semiconductors in Oct 2019 to spend more time on personal projects and with family and friends. I continue to participate in the SenSIP effort at A.S.U..In 2021, I joined Lightsense Technologies as their director of machine learning. My friends there recently introduced a novel tool that allows law enforcement officers to safely identify meth and fentanyl in the field. I'm working to apply these same spectroscopic techniques to the identification of pathogenic bacteria.
