Veteran software engineer with over a decade of experience focused on developing low-latency, high-throughput data systems on the tech side of finance (AMM/HFT). I can implement trading strategies efficiently, but not devise them (I am not a quant).20 years experience with C#/.NET and over 12 years with Java and other JVM languages. In my free time, I maintain an open source Java decompiler and a suite of other metaprogramming tools called Procyon.I specialize in using runtime code generation to solve many of the performance and memory issues normally involved in supporting dynamic data. I emit storage classes to minimize memory footprints, specialized serializers to maximize throughput, and compiled queries to speed up processing.I also have extensive UX design and development experience with WPF, which I have used since the earliest "Avalon" CTPs. I’ve spent countless hours rewriting third-party WPF controls to make them perform under extreme data loads with high frequency updates. Keeping a data grid with 100+ columns and hundreds of thousands of rows sorted, filtered, and grouped with thousands of live updates a second is tricky business, but it can be done, and I have built production trading applications that prove it.Having completed my mid-career sabbatical, I am excited to get back to work! I am now located in western Missouri, about an hour north of Kansas City. While I am primarily considering remote opportunities, I would also be willing to fly into a regional office (ideally Chicago or St. Louis) for up to one week a month.
Listed skills include Software Development, .Net, C#, Wpf, and 27 others.
