Lead a large, multi-team global organization that spans Citi’s complete virtualization estate, software-defined networking, IaaS cloud automation, system administration automation, and PaaS platform automation and operations. Lead vSphere operations and engineering, NSX operations, and three DevOps teams that deliver self-service automation for vSphere, Ansible, SCCM, NSX, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry.

Built and lead a global DevOps organization supporting Citi’s private cloud operations, infrastructure automation, and OS management automation. I was brought in to transform Citi’s existing private cloud operations team into a cross-functional DevOps organization and to lead efforts to modernize Citi’s IaaS private cloud architecture. I led design and development for Citi’s next generation IaaS private cloud solution. I championed a new culture dynamic built on a high degree of team collaboration, cross-functional roles, and implemented an Agile framework. I developed a culture of continuous learning and evolved my organization into a group of innovators focused on automation at every level.

Responsible for designing and leading overall effort to deploy the first private cloud for Sprint IT built on VMware’s vCloud Director. Led several vendor proof-of-concepts to decide cloud platform of choice. Drafted business case and met with IT executive leadership to drive investment for cloud. Met with key IT stakeholders to sell the approach and gained conceptual buy-in for a cloud service model for Sprint development organizations. Partnered with IT Operations to design infrastructure requirements for the private cloud. Developed an internal marketing campaign to grow adoption of the private cloud as the solution of choice for development environments. Developed on-boarding process for cloud tenants. Partnered with several IT organizations to deliver IaaS, PaaS, and DBaaS catalog solutions in the cloud. Developed new Cloud Support Team to manage cloud infrastructure and trained staff. Led all private cloud efforts for Sprint including initial exploration of NFV technologies for mobile network edge services.

Key member on SME-level team responsible for developing and delivering an enterprise-class automation platform built on HP’s automation suite. Key responsibilities included development of Windows OS patching automation, OS deployment automation, and OS compliance & remediation.
