Started my career as a user-experience (UX) designer in digital media, then took this background to urbanism. This, together with being a skateboarder for the biggest part of my life, shaped the way I observe and design cities. I am fascinated by the ways in which people use, appropriate and leave their mark on their surroundings. I'm using illustration, photography and mapping to capture this. I'm always designing places and tools from the user's perspective. Currently, I'm working as Digital Urban Planner for the City of Amsterdam and I'm active on Urban- Sports & Culture in Rotterdam.I have developed a broad set of skills:• Create user-oriented plans that enhance the city for it's people• Design across different scales levels• Convince clients and stakeholders through text and appealing (moving) images• Going through a design process that is not linear but continuous iterate, try out and experiment • A lot of experience in crafting and positioning a good story• Ambition to tell the urban development story with photo & video• A clear vision of what a city is and should be: urbanism is not urban enough• Interest in technology and how it's changing our physical world
