The Augusta Chronicle, Augusta, GA, 1993 – 1999 Initially served as a staff writer. Evolved into New Media Director responsible for overseeing all digital publishing efforts for this mid-sized U.S. newspaper. New Media Director, Online Editor, Staff Writer • Led construction and maintenance of the newspaper’s various news and community Web sites. National awards won during tenure included Best Interactive Feature (1997 Digital Edge Award) and Best Newspaper Website (1998 Digital Edge Award).• Simultaneously headed a commercial production group, developing Web sites and online advertising solutions for local businesses, including producing dynamic online auto inventories and real estate Web sites complete with home listings and 360-degree VR photo galleries. The aggressive commercial group helped keep local business on the cutting edge while making the online division profitable for the newspaper.
