• Developed device firmware for a novel optical blood pressure device. • Implemented the on-device user interface using LVGL, ensuring a smooth and responsive user experience, serving as the primary point of contact with an external UI/UX designer.• Modified the build system to enable the encrypted firmware images in the MCUBoot bootloader, enhancing device security.• Containerized the firmware build process with Docker, integrating it into CI pipelines and reducing build times.• Utilized PSA cryptographic libraries to manage the encryption and on-the-fly decryption of proprietary company algorithm model data.• Developed I2C sensor interface code for various sensors critical to the device’s functionality, including optical (PPG) and accelerometer sensors.

Developed a Bluetooth-enabled protoype medical device to monitor the progress of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders for a startup. The design integrated multiple sensors including an inertial measurement unit, user input button, and force measuring tip into a stylus compatible with iPads and mobile devices. A custom base unit was also designed to wirelessly charge the stylus.Working with a partner for the mechanical engineering, I designed and implemented the circuitry as a rigi-flex PCB and wrote the firmware.Manufactured a short run that was used in a clinical data study. The project's success contributed to several patents filings and a subsequent funding event for a the company.
