Currently enrolled and will begin my first quarter as an MFA Photo/Media candidate at the University of Washington's School of Art+Art History+Design in September, 2022.www.mikeybaratta.comwww.auraprint.artwww.aggadah.usA California native, an artist, a musician and a cyclist: I have worked as a freelance photographer, film maker, silkscreen and digital printer for the past 13 years. I have worked on over 50 film/tv/video/live event productions as a production assistant, assistant camera, camera operator, art department assistant and set photographer. My work has taken me all over the country to multiple states and cities, but my current location is Seattle, Washington. The main focuses of my freelance work include: video production/production assisting, video editing, product/portrait photography, chromogenic photographic printing (C-41 process), silkscreen printing and full photolithographic archival digital pigment printing (all facets of production, including design).On the side I operate a small fine art digital print studio for reproducing artists' work and curate an open submission, quarterly based printed zine: www.auraprint.artCurrently I hold a BFA in Photography & Digital Imagery and a Minor in Criminology & Corrections from the University of Utah, and I am about to begin my MFA in Photo/Media at the University of Washington. I would ideally like to continue my studies in Criminology as well, and would like to be more involved with lowering offender recidivism rates and continued outreach efforts for victims of domestic violence.
