I am currently a senior lecturer at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty, Kazakhstan. I teach courses on data analysis in neuroscience, neuropsychiatry, computer vision, and an introductory course on scripting in Python.The vast majority of my career I have been a researcher finishing at the position of leading researcher at Federal Research Center of Fundamental and Translational Medicine. I conducted a few studies in neurofeedback field with a special emphasis on the fMRI neurofeedback. Another field I have worked in is clinical neuroscience, mostly emotional neuroscience in depression and motor neuroscience in stroke. However, my PhD thesis was about self-referential processing in substance-dependent patients.My preferrable modalities are EEG and fMRI and the thing I particularly like in research is understanding the role of certain data processing approaches in the study outcomes. Last, I hold a BA in psychology and keep being interested in psychometrics and behavioral measurements in neuroscientific studies.
