Cencorp Automation manufactures machines for electronics manufacturing. My role as electrical designer has been to produce schematics for individually customized machines for customers. There has been some new machine or functionality developments that have given me the opportunity to familiarize myself deeper on components and parts that we use, but also on international standards and requirements. From the details on electrical parts it's surprisingly short trip to details on machine system level and machine safety related issues.

Importing various products mainly from Europe and selling them for consumers and professionals. Focus on reasonably priced, but decent quality merchandize, preferably items that are not available from every other store. Some projects on electronics design consultation and fault solving.

My role was to act as a technical contact person between the product lines and the customer on all the technical matters related to component development. Excellent relationships with the customer and deep understanding of the technical requirements helped in starting the business remarkably fast.

Contact person between the product line and the customer on all technical matters related to new component development programs, but as well when seeking for new opportunities. Participation on business planning and follow-up too, since the two travel together.

Technical contact person between product programs and suppliers for new, co-developed IC components. Close co-operation with component sourcing and supporting functions. Participation in system architect designs from the role point of view. Following also general component packaging, EMC and electrical performance issue studies and developments

Power management specialist on a new generation phone engine program. Gathering the power mgmt requirements from the teams, proposing appropriate solutions and driving the development of the ASICs and discrete ICs. Calculating the whole phone's power consumption estimations and participating the system level design as well as roadmap work. Assisting software, LCD and RF development programs and teams. Helping in hunting the EMC errors due to large amount of system level knowledge.

Collecting the requirements and defining the content for a proposed special application IC for phone car accessories.

Circuit design and simulation work of a charge pump block on a new phone generation power mgmt ASIC. Other smaller block designs, top level layout modifications, verification test support and top level error hunting activites.

Designer on a new phone engine generation baseband team. Activities on ASIC and memory pin order selection, PCB EMC estimation tool evaluation, infrared transceiver studies.

Thesis work "Power supply for a RF power amplifier", studying how an RF amplifier tolerates the noise a typical DC/DC converter generates to the supply voltage. RF standards, DC/DC converters and RF performance measurements together with EMC were the main subjects.

Summer trainee on 1993, working with various phone car accessories, concentrating mainly on improving the EMC performance of a certain device's DC/DC converter and processor. December 1993 to early 1994 working temporarily on a task to minimize the radiated EMI of an accessory DC/DC. With a good luck and help from experts, not only the radiation limits were passed but also the previously used EMI shields could be removed totally.
