With over 20 years of experience in electrochemistry, material science and environmental technologies, I am passionate about developing and implementing sustainable solutions for energy and water production. As the Research Team Leader of Advanced Materials for Nuclear Energy team at VTT, I manage a team of 18 scientists, engineers, and technicians and a substantial research portfolio. My expertise spans electrochemical water treatment and monitoring technologies, corrosion product monitoring, nanomaterial synthesis and applications, and materials degradation. I have led the research and development of CSIRO Vesi™ technology, a novel pH sensor based on metal oxide-polymer composites, and secured research funding from national and international organizations. I have also published 25 peer-reviewed papers, filed 8 international patents, and received the CSIRO Julius Career Award and other honors. Additionally, I have supervised and mentored several PhD and MSc students, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and collaboration. My mission is to push the boundaries of sustainability and deliver groundbreaking material and environmental technology solutions.
