Mikko Veräjänkorva began his successful career in the pharmaceutical field in 2003 when he founded Farenta Oy. Through his strong vision, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit, Farenta grew from a small startup into an international company with three business areas: staffing services for pharmacies, expert services for pharmaceutical companies, and digital solutions for the pharmaceutical industry.By 2016, Farenta had over 400 employees, a turnover of €16 million, and more than 10,000 active users on its digital platform for pharmaceutical professionals. When Farenta entered into cooperation with the publicly listed Oriola Corporation, Mikko transitioned to Oriola as Business Development Director. In this role, he continued building his vision of a comprehensive pharmaceutical ecosystem that connects healthcare professionals, organizations, and technology. While some aspects of this ecosystem have already been implemented, much of the work is still ongoing.After three and a half years at Oriola, Mikko took on a new challenge as Director at Popit Ltd., a company pioneering digital solutions for medication management. Popit brings the concept of “beyond the pill” to life with an innovative solution for digitalizing medication. Popit’s unique technology for blister-packed medications – which account for 80% of solid medications – ensures accurate medication tracking, enhances patient adherence, and provides real-world evidence (RWE) and patient-reported outcomes (PROs). This remote health management tool is transforming how patients interact with their medication and improving health outcomes.In 2022, Mikko became the CEO and founding partner of Apteam Oy, a company focused on connecting pharmaceutical experts and providing innovative staffing solutions for the pharmacy sector. Under his leadership, Apteam has experienced exceptional growth. The company’s turnover grew by an impressive 383%, from €0.6 million in 2022 to €2.9 million in 2023. Additionally, the company’s workforce expanded to 120 employees by the end of 2023.From its very first year, Apteam has also organized a unique event for the pharmaceutical field called Tulevaisuuteni Lääkeala (My future in the pharmaceutical field). This annual event brings together key players and professionals, attracting over 500 attendees, inspiring speakers, and leading exhibitors each year. The event has quickly become a must-attend gathering for pharmacists.
