Making software easy to operate, makes it easier to adjust. Making code easy to read makes it easier to write.I was brought up in an analog world, where I witnessed the advent of home computing, and the start of the Internet age. While my main interests have always been in playing music and video games, I eventually found a passion for programming in my late teens, and I've worked in software engineering since 2001.Programming allows us to codify knowledge in a way that can be understood by human beings and computers alike. Our biggest challenges come about when we need to manage complexity on both sides. On the one hand, we strive to make our software run more accurately and efficiently, possibly at a greater scale. On the other hand, we want to maintain an architecture in which engineers are able to confidently and fluently express new ideas. I personally find these two aspects of my work equally engrossing.When computers are not enough to help me feel fulfilled, I turn to singing and playing music, or studying foreign languages and traveling.
