Tiene un doctorado en Innovación Educativa, una maestría en sistemas de calidad y productividad, es Ingeniera mecatrónica y Psicóloga. Es investigadora de nivel I en el Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) de México, fellow de la Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) y fellow de la Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education (FAIMER). Es autora y editora de 4 libros, más de 80 publicaciones y 13 capítulos de libros sobre innovación educativa en salud. Es Editora ejecutiva de la Revista Mexicana de Educación Médica, y participa en la junta editorial de diferentes revistas científicas.
