I am an educator and researcher with a strong foundation in theoretical physics and statistics, committed to advancing educational equity, particularly in STEM fields. As a Professor at LaGuardia Community College, CUNY, since 2012, I've led initiatives like the expansion of the Carnegie Math Pathways and the design of corequisite mathematics courses within CUNY. My work focuses on promoting equity through data-driven strategies, exemplified in projects like “Data Coaching for Equity" and "Racial Equity in Gateway Mathematics Courses."I co-direct the "Implementing Shared Equity Leadership" project, fostering equity-driven leadership at LaGuardia, and serve as a founding member of Casa de las Américas, supporting Latinx and Americas students. I'm also involved in integrating AI into education, guiding students in its ethical use, and contributing to the global scientific community through my work with Scientelab and Colombia’s Intersectoral Roundtable of Scientific Diplomacy.My research interests include emerging educational technologies, equity-based assessment, and creating inclusive learning environments.
